Cloves

Whenever we had a toothache and could not get to a dentist in time, our grandmother would suggest placing a clove in between our teeth to reduce the aches. Somehow, it always did. Now we use it to nourish and nurture your skin.

History: Cloves are native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia, and are commonly used as a spice. The clove tree is an evergreen that grows up to 8–12 meters.

Parts Used: Flower buds are used in our formulations.

Composition: The main constituents of the clove are phenylpropanoids such as carvacrol, thymol, eugenol, and cinnamaldehyde.

Scientific name: Syzygium aromaticum
