Today, I want to take you behind the scenes of how Deyga came into being in 2018. It is more than just a skincare brand. It is a part of who I am. My journey began in the small town of Erode, with big dreams and an even bigger love for nature. Growing up, I was surrounded by lush fields and the comforting wisdom of Indian households filled with generational DIYs or better called ‘desi nuskhe’. My skin was sensitive and acne-prone, and I would often find myself turning to natural remedies instead of products filled with harsh chemicals that only made things worse.
I pursued an MBA in Business, but truth be told, I had no clue about how a real business worked. What I did have was passion and a dream. I spent hours in my kitchen experimenting with pure ingredients from the pantry, trying to create something that would truly help my skin. That is how the first product of Deyga, the Charcoal Soap Bar, was born. It was not just effective for me, but it worked wonders for others, too. My family and friends were the first to try it, and their positive feedback gave me the push I needed. They loved how it was free from toxins, smelled like home, and actually worked.
Word started spreading. More and more people were curious about these handcrafted products that felt real and rooted in tradition. One by one, people joined me in the mission to create clean, effective skincare. We started small, but our belief in the power of nature was huge. Slowly, a dedicated team came together. Then came another breakthrough that truly broke the internet, our hero, the Beetroot Lip Balm. Just like our charcoal soap, it was made from kitchen ingredients and became an instant favorite. Our focus was clear: to deliver skincare that celebrates purity and sustainability.
At Deyga, we believe in clean beauty. Every product is handcrafted with love, using only the finest natural ingredients. No toxins, no shortcuts. We let our products speak for themselves. I have always felt that when your intention is pure and your efforts are honest, there is no need for flashy marketing gimmicks. That is what helped Deyga grow, purely through trust and word of mouth.
In 2020, Deyga was awarded Skincare Brand of the Year by the Times Group. It was a proud moment for our entire team. Since then, we have been honored with many recognitions, but what truly matters is the love we receive from you all.
