History:Cloves are native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia, and are commonly used as a spice. The clove tree is an evergreen that grows up to 8–12 meters.

Composition:The main constituents of the clove are phenylpropanoids such as carvacrol, thymol, eugenol, and cinnamaldehyde.
