History: Himalayan salt is rock salt excavated from the Punjab region of Pakistan. The salt is pinkish in color due to mineral impurities.

Composition: Pink Himalayan salt is almost similar to table salt. It contains up to 98 percent sodium chloride and also trace minerals, such as potassium, magnesium, calcium.
Scientific name: Halite
Himalayan salt is good for disinfecting acne-prone skin and helps to reduce breakouts, especially those dreaded blackheads. Salt acts as a natural scrub and swamps off dead skin cells easily. This ingredient also absorbs excess oil and moisture to prevent dandruff.
